Evon Kirkland McAngus has been in the business of designing interiors for nearly twenty-five years, and during that time she has earned the respect of her peers and established a loyal following. She is a professional member of IIDA and ASID and is NCIDQ certified. Admired for her thoughtful presentation and clean design, Evon advises her clients to make timeless, sophisticated choices for major furnishings. “My goal is to create a space that the client will appreciate and fall in love with at the same time,” a strategy that makes her a perennial favorite in the Carolinas.
Having such an established identity in the design community, Evon understands the impact of a reputable interior designer. “People are especially selective now with regards to their money. Clients are very value conscious of both design fees and products. But I also truly believe that using an interior designer is a choice that will ensure a more successful outcome for their project.”
In 2007, Evon Kirkland Interiors relocated to the West Vista, just across the river from downtown Columbia, and launched Westend. “Although we are known as Westend Luxury, I feel luxury is not necessarily linked to the amount paid for an item. It’s more about the quality and classic appeal of furnishings and accessories. Our retail store is structured around established higher-end lines such as Baker, Hickory Chair and Henredon; but in this past year, we have been pleased to add Drexel Heritage and Bernhardt to our line-up. With the retail gallery, we can offer our clients the opportunity to be certain that they are investing wisely in their home.”
Although her portfolio includes numerous commercial projects and residential renovations, Evon is especially accomplished in new construction projects. “I enjoy the challenges that come with working on a project from day one. When I stand on that piece of land, I can envision the house that will one day be home to a family. There are always numerous solutions to any project and my goal is to develop the one that will best fit my clients’ needs and wishes.”
Recent projects include properties in Columbia’s Vista, Heathwood, and Northeast neighborhoods, as well as Lake Murray, and Charleston.
